Installing IIS on Windows 2008

Internet Information Server (IIS) is included with Microsoft Windows 2008 and can be installed either during the installation of the operating system or afterwards. There are several IIS options that must be enabled in order for HelpConsole to run. Do the following to ensure that all of these options are enabled.

1. Click "Start > Control panel"


2. Click "Turn Windows Features on or off"


3. Click 'next' if you see the "Before You Begin" screen

4. Check "Web Server (IIS)", and click 'Next'


5. Click 'next' when the 'Introduction to Web Server' is displayed

6. Select the following options (as shown below) and click 'next':
- Static Content
- Default Document
- Directory Browsing
- HTTP Errors
- HTTP Redirection
- ASP.NET
- .NET Extensibility
- ASP
- ISAPI Extensions
- ISAPI Filters
- HTTP Logging
- Request Monitor
- Request Filtering
- Static Content Compression
- IIS Management Console


7. Click 'Install' when the 'confirm Installation Selections' screen is displayed.
